News & Updates
Castle Night is an indie web game made by a solo developer. New content and rule changes are logged here by date. Please send feedback and bug reports through the Contact page.
September 28, 2026 — Accounts and Performance
- Continue with your Google account. The first screen (Lord selection) now has a “Continue with Google” button. On a new device, or after clearing your data, sign in with the same Google account to pick up right where you left off in your territory.
- Sign in and out from the pause menu. The territory pause menu now shows your account status and lets you sign in or out. When you sign out, your progress is saved to the server and then removed from this device.
- Better phone performance. Rendering load on the territory screen is down by about 60%. The game runs more smoothly on phones and uses less battery.
- Polished translations. About 140 lines of English, Japanese and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) text were revised to read more naturally.
September 28, 2026 — Heukcheol Captains and New Charges
- 12 named enemy captains. Enemy captains such as the Heukcheol Warlord, Seolgung, Bingnang, Heukpyo and the Heukcheol Overlord now appear in person in boss defense battles and territory Great Raids. Each captain has their own troop type and uses a war cry to speed up nearby enemies. See the Heukcheol Army Codex for details.
- New enemy: Heukcheol Archers. A new foe stops at a distance to shoot arrows. Cavalry is strong against archers.
- A new look for the Heukcheol army. Iron helmets, horned helmets and hoods, armor and round shields, and banners worn on the back make every troop type easy to recognize at a glance.
- Revamped charge scenery. The road that used to look paved is now a rutted country dirt road, lined with fields, fences, thatched cottages, straw bales and Heukcheol banners.
September 28, 2026 — 24 Generals and Gear
- Now 24 generals. 17 recruitable generals join the 7 story generals. Recruit them at the War Hall's Recruitment Office with Recruit Tokens or crowns. See the Generals Codex.
- Grades and stars. There are four grades — Common, Rare, Epic and Legendary. Meet the same general again to collect shards and raise their stars, up to 5.
- Troop matchups. Cavalry beats Archers, Archers beat Spearmen, and Spearmen beat Cavalry. Bring three of the same troop type together for a formation bonus.
- Five gear slots. Helmets, armor and charms join weapons and horses. Lords and generals each have their own gear.
September 28, 2026 — Territory Expansion
- 10 tiers of walls and grounds. Upgrade through ten tiers, from a wood palisade to stone walls and a stone fortress.
- Resource sites on open ground. As your Lord level rises, you can build more farms, lumber camps, quarries and silver mines on open ground in your territory.
- Posting generals on the roads. Up to 3 generals travel with you; post the rest at the South Gate or on the field, river, west or east roads, and they'll guard that spot every night.
September 28, 2026 — Multilingual Support
The game and its info pages are now available in five languages: Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese (Traditional and Simplified). You can switch languages from the in-game pause menu.
